APD: Man was arrested for murder

An Atmore man was arrested today in connection to the Sept. 24 shooting that claimed the life of another Atmore man on Jimbos Road, according to police officials.

Chief Chuck Brooks said in a release that investigators with the Atmore Police Department arrested Anthony Jerome English, 23, of Atmore, and charged him with murder. He was arrested in Monroeville.

According to Advance archives, Roderick L. Watkins was shot in the early morning hours of Sept. 24, and was found lying in the driveway at 76 Jimbos Road.
