Minnie Luker Nordstrom Woodson, 99, of Atmore, passed on Oct. 3, 2019, in Pensacola, Fla. She was a graduate of Escambia County High School, owner/operator of a Café 1950’s in Atmore and then later worked at the Ribbon Mill and Vanity Fair until her retirement in December 1984.

She was born in Atmore on Nov. 1, 1919, to Fred and Cora Luker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Cora Luker; husbands, James Edwin Nordstrom, Ray Luker and William (Bob) Woodson; son, James Edwin Nordstrom III; daughters, Edna Arlene Nordstrom Barlow and Ruby Lanette Nordstrom; and siblings Nettie Bly Cates, Milton Luker and Fred Luker Jr.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Brown of Pensacola; two sons, Dennis W. (Hazel) Nordstrom of Milton, Fla. and Edly (Sonia) Cates of Middletown, Da.; three

granddaughters, Tammy Spain of Pensacola, Monica (Jessie) Jenkins of Atlanta, Ga., Casey Nordstrom of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one grandson, Eric Cates of Neenan, Wisc.; five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held October 7, 2019 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home

Chapel with the Rev. Pam Avery of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church officiating.  Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were Michael Nordstrom, Michael Spain, Chris Luker, Ed Lange and Ronnie Lahman.

Family received friends Oct. 7 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or charity of your choice. 

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
