All Northview needed was a spark Friday night.

The Chiefs got it when down by eight to South Walton and went on to outscore the Panama City 41-0 to win 53-20 on the road.

“We just needed a spark,” NHS head football coach Derek Marshman said. “We didn’t punt for the third straight week. We moved the ball well. We couldn’t stop them at first. That was the big thing in the first half.

“We ended up getting a big stop,” he said.

NHS lead 21-20 at halftime.

Clay Kitrell, who started at quarterback for an injured Ben Wilson, ended up with three sacks on defense.

Marshman said the secondary stepped up as well.

Next week, NHS is open, and then visits Chipley on Oct. 25.
