Escambia County Middle School has been accepted into Kinsa’s FLUency program for the 2019-2020 flu season, according to school officials.

ECMS School Nurse Alice Stewart, a RN, worked over the summer to get the school accepted in to the program.

ECMS is the only school in Escambia County selected to be a part of the program. 

Kinsa’s FLUency program is a school health initiative that enables schools and parents to detect and respond to spreading illness more quickly, keeping kids and classrooms healthier.

All families and staff in accepted schools can receive a free Kinsa thermometer, and join a private group on the Kinsa app to see the overall health of their school, including common symptoms and illnesses going around.

ECMS received its first shipment of Kinsa Smart Thermometers recently. The deadline to sign up to be part of the Kinsa FLUency family and to receive a free Smart Thermometer is this Thurs., Oct. 31, 2019.
