The mother of a couple who kidnapped her children last week was captured today, according to the Washington Parish, La. Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Mike Haley said in an email today that Jennifer Abelseth was captured this morning in Tangipahoa Parish, La. She has been charged with four counts of simple kidnapping.

Sheriff Randy Seal said in a news release last week that Joshua Abelseth and Jennifer Abelseth, who lost custody of their children through court order, took the children from their grandparents’ home in Washington Parish and fled the state.

Earlier this week, Joshua was captured after dropping the children off at the grandparents’ house.
