Destiny Worship Center’s 13th annual Senior Citizen Appreciation night will be held this Sat., Nov. 23, at the center on Sunset Drive.
The senior appreciation night is held to show love and gratitude to senior citizens in the area, officials said. The event will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and is free and open to all ages 60 and up.
Dr. Bernard and Felicia Bishop said Friday that there is going to be a cake walk, and representatives will be talking about Medicare and senior exercising to stay healthy.
Additionally, there will be plenty of door prizes for all seniors, the Bishops said.
During the event, local choirs will be singing old school Christian music, and a game of name that tune will be played.
All attending will be given a free meal, the Bishops said.
Bernard said the DWC is soliciting any volunteers willing to help at the event.
The Bishops said anyone wanting to adopt a senior with fleece throws is encouraged to do so, and any extras will be given to residents at The Meadows.
