Mr. Charles Edward Boatwright, 69, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at his home in Atmore.
Mr. Boatwright was a native of Century, Fla., former resident of Byrneville, Fla. and had resided in Atmore for the past six years.
He was a veteran of the Desert Storm conflict serving in the U.S. Army and the Alabama National Guard with 34 years of service.
He was a member of the Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Glannie Pearl Boatwright; and brother, Jerry Wayne Boatwright.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Orbineze W. Boatwright of Atmore; one son, Charles “Chuck” Boatwright of Lexington, Ky.; one step-son, Paul (Melody) Lee of Bratt, Fla.; two brothers, Billy Glenn (Diane) Boatwright of Byrneville and Henry Douglas Boatwright of Pensacola, Fla.; five sisters, Glorie Jean (Ray) Lawson of Century, Judy (David) Tillery of Atmore, Margie Quick of East Brewton, Sue (Junior) Walston of Century and Kathy (Donald) Walston of Pensacola; six grandchildren, Paul, Matthew, Mark, Tori, Alexes and Anna; two great-grandchildren, Cannon and Keith; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Williams officiating.
Burial followed at the Judson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held January 9 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
