Mr. Scott “Pack Mule” William Neal, 55 of Mexia, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.

Mr. Neal was born in Atmore and had been a resident of Monroe County since 1980. He worked as a truck driver for Double T Logging Co.

Mr. Neal is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tinney Fails, Luther Fails, Minnie Lee Neal and Cecil Neal; and his step mother, Joyce Neal.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Jenkins Neal of Mexia; his father, Charles Howard Neal of Excel; his mother, Mary Alice Dow of Atmore; his son, Brandon Scott Neal of San Antonio, Texas; his daughter, Lauren Holland and husband Cody of Monroeville; his brother, Mark Howard Neal and wife Kimberly of Excel; a brother in law, Eddie Booth of Eufaula; nephews, Adam (Amy) Neal, Austin (Erica) Booth and Seth Booth; and niece, Ashley Neal (Curtis) Johnson.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Darby officiating. Burial will follow at Excel Cemetery. Visitation was held March 17th at the funeral home.
