An inmate died from injuries sustained during an assault on March 24 at Fountain Correctional Facility just outside of Atmore, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
Public Information Specialist Samantha Rose said that Kenneth Locke, 27, of Franklin, who was serving a 14-year sentence out of Monroe County for robbery, passed away on Tuesday from injuries sustained during an inmate-on-inmate assault at the facility.
“The ADOC condemns all violence in its facilities, and the fatal actions taken against Locke by another inmate are being thoroughly investigated,” Rose said. “Locke’s cause of death is pending a full autopsy, and more information will be available upon the conclusion of the investigation into his death.”
