Mr. George Winston Foster Sr., 76, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020, at his home in Phillipsville.
Mr. Foster was a native of Atmore and had resided in Phillipsville for the past 34 years. He retired from International Paper Co., and was a member of the Hall’s Fork Hunting Club.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharlene Benton Foster; parents, George Lee and Maggie Mae Foster; and daughter, Darlene Foster Stewart.
He is survived by special friend, Shirley Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; son, George (Paula) Foster Jr. of Rabun; one brother, Aubrey Foster of Rabun; two sisters, Elsie Mae Brown of Loxley and Maggie Lee Chancey of Bay Minette; four grandchildren, Casey (Lacey) Stewart, Darla (Brad) Lawley, Kara (Josh) Mulder and Brett Foster; and seven great-grandchildren, Lane, Leighann, Emry, Chloe, Valley, Easton and Mary-Evelyn.
Funeral services were March 19, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Hadley officiating.
Burial followed at the Hall’s Fork Cemetery.
Visitation was held March 19 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Gayland Hadley, Phillip Hadley, Jason Roley, Chase Stewart, Allen Tyree and Marlin Stamps.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Hall’s Fork Church of Christ Cemetery.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
