Tip your favorite servers, bartenders virtually
Local servers and bartenders can now receive tips online.
Gov. Kay Ivey announced a statewide public health order on March 19 to aid in the state’s efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The order included prohibiting any gathering of 25 persons or more, or gatherings of any size that can’t maintain a consistent six-foot distance between persons.
Additionally, the order prohibits any restaurant, bar, brewery or similar establishments on premis consumption of food or drink.
Since the order, local restaurants have been serving via curbside or pick up.
Organizer Bub Gideons said all servers can go to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfTjeuGpqAIuaz7u5ZJ1iahBRM7_9xoHSYYJxv9OgiA4yrA4g/viewform to sign up for tips.
Gideons said once the servers sign up, folks will be encouraged to tip their favorites.
