City council adopts main street resolution

The Atmore City Council Monday adopted a resolution to apply to be a part of the Main Street Alabama program.
The program helps revitalize the downtown or neighborhood commercial districts within the context of the preservation and rehabilitation of its historic buildings, according to the resolution.
In other business, the council:
• was made aware that the maintenance at the airport for its runway restriping and sealing has been paid for by the CARES Act. Mayor Jim Staff said 100 percent of the cost of the project, $262,000, will be paid for through the act.
