The Atmore City Council adopted a resolution for the financing of a sanitation building at the street department during its regularly-scheduled meeting via conference call on Monday.
The financing is through United Bank at 3.55 percent interest during the first-year interest only and will be followed by a 10-year ammortization. The resolution is for a $1 million general obligation warrant.
The resolution was adopted with Councilmember Chris Walker, who is an employee of United Bank, abstaining.
Additionally, the city council approved a senior celebration, which will be held from 5-6 p.m. this Sat., May 2.
Approximately 85 seniors from Escambia County High School, Escambia Academy, Northview High School and home schools will be walking along Fernway Drive off of Brookwood Drive and continue around the circle back to Brookwood, according to event organizers.
