Mrs. Glynith “G.G.” Byrd, 58, passed away on Sat., June 27, 2020, in Birmingham. 

Mrs. Byrd was a native of Stanton, Texas, former resident of Kingwood, Texas and had resided in Atmore for the past 13 years.

She was an employee of Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union, and loved fishing, hunting and was highly active outdoors.

She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of McCullough.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Latty; and sister, Joni Harris. 

She is survived by her mother, Peggy Latty of Flomaton; husband, Ronald Byrd of Atmore; two sons, Sean (Meredith) Searls of Houston, Texas and Kevin (Phoebe) Searls of Poquoson, Va.; two grandchildren, Gage Searls and Dexter Wood; father-in-law, the late Troy Byrd; mother-in-law, Margaret Byrd; sisters-in-law, Patricia (David) Gibbs of Atmore and Janet (Ricky) Burkette of Mobile; brothers-in-law, Bobby (Lisa) Byrd of Oak Grove, Fla. and Bill Harris of Flomaton; nieces, Kelly (Matt) Clark of Pollard, Christy Harris of Pollard, Ashley (Chad) White of Moundville, Lindsay (Michael) Wood of Atmore, Stacey (Kevin) White of Atmore, Taylor Byrd of Pensacola, Fla., Audrie Byrd of Oak Grove, Kristen (Luke) McDaniel of Oak Grove and Kayleigh Burkette of Mobile; nephews, Matt Burkette of Destin, Fla. and Zach Burkette of Destin; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on July 2, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Alton Lister and Bro. Breceda officiating. 

Burial followed at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were be Sean Searls, Kevin Searls, Jamie Barrow, Rodney Huckabee, Chad White and Michael Wood.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
