Mrs. Georgia Irene Sanders Parsons, 92, passed at the home of her granddaughter in Madisonville, La. on Wed., Oct. 28, 2020.
Mrs. Parsons had been residing in Madisonville for the last six months undergoing radiation treatments. Mrs. Parsons was a native of Greenville, but had been a long-time resident of Atmore and Uriah.
She was a member of the Atmore Church of Christ and was retired from Vanity Fair with many years of service.
Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joe Everette Parsons Jr.; parents, John T. Sanders Sr. and Kathleen Barganier Sanders; two brothers, Joseph C. Sanders and John T. Sanders; two sisters, Annie Pearl Gentry and Sarah Nell Smith; and son in law, Joseph C. Sands.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jean Sands of Atmore and Renie Jo Lassitter (Ed Hales) of Uriah; one sister, Doris Duncan of Greenville; five grandchildren, Jeanna Encalade of Madisonville, Shelley Henderson of Alpine, Calif., Lynn Venn of Cantonment, Fla., Leslie Vice of Uriah and Joe Hayles of Uriah; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held tomorrow, Tues., Nov. 3, 2020 from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
