Santa Claus is coming to Atmore.

According to city officials, Santa will be traveling throughout the town atop of of the fire engines.

Mayor Jim Staff said Santa will be riding in certain grids of the city, waving to all.

Santa will be riding Mon., Dec. 21 through Wed., Dec. 23, from around 4:30 p.m. until around 8 p.m. or when they cover each grid each day.

The western side of the city will be covered on Dec. 21; the northeastern side will be on Dec. 22; and the southeastern side will be covered on Dec. 23.

Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce President Emilee Waters said this is not a chamber event, and the city, the fire department and the police departments are the heroes for this event.
