ECHA reports 1,067 cases reported from hospitals

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced Dec. 15 that 1,067 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest is an increase of 36 cases since Dec. 11.
According to a release, 727 cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 340 from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton.
At ACH, 3,501 specimens have been collected, 2,689 have been negative with 39 pending and 46 inconclusive.
At DWM, 1,669 specimens have been collected with 1,287 negative results, 14 pending and 27 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 2,291 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Nine-hundred-and-five specimens have been collected over the last 14 days. Thirty-two people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
