The Atmore Police Department held its first ever Shop with a Cop event today at Walmart.
Through generous donations to the department, 100 kids were selected to participate in the event. Each kid spent $100 on gifts for themselves, and on a gift for another.
Chief Chuck Brooks said the first Shop with a Cop wouldn’t have been a success without the faculty and staff of Rachel Patterson Elementary and Escambia County Middle Schools.
“I thank the Rachel Patterson and Escambia County Middle School staff for coming out and for their help,” Brooks said.
Brooks said people made some generous donations toward the event, which featured APD police officers and investigators escourting kids around Walmart.
