RPES students hold toy, can drive
Students at Rachel Patterson have been busy as of late.
The school held two donation drives, including for the local Toys for Tots organization and a canned food drive.
Classrooms participated in the canned goods competition with the winning class who donated the most getting a pizza party.
Principal Toya McMillian said adults and kids participated in the toy drive.
McMillian said the students poured a lot into the effort.
Additionally, Pastor Darryl North, Empowerment Tabernacle and the Atmore Police Department helped provide 41 bicycles to children at RPES.
Loumeek White, District 5 boardmember, and Jimmie Marshall helped in the effort.
