Mrs. Betty “Jo” Bexley, 61, passed away on Thurs., Jan. 21, 2021, at her home in Irvington. 

Mrs. Bexley was a native of Mobile, former resident of Atmore and had resided in Irvington for the past 20 years. She was a proud member of the Poarch Creek Indians. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook and take care of her family and friends. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Genese McCraney; two brothers, Doug McCraney and Jerry McCraney; and grandson, Seth Garrett.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert W. Bexley of Irvington; three sons, Chris (Pam) Garrett of Irvington, J.J. Bexley of Irvington and Sebasten “Bobo” Bexley of Irvington; three step-sons, Jeremy Bexley of Mobile, Michael Bexley of Mobile and Matthew (Judy) Bexley of Mobile; one daughter, Sabrina Garrett of Atmore; five sisters, Ann (Wayne) Waddell of Philadelphia, Miss., Bobbie (Billy) Walker of Semmes, Rita Ikner (Ricky) of Frisco City, Debbie Fullbright of Atmore and Jan Powell of Atmore; eight grandchildren, Mikey Mason, Kari Mason, Makayla Garrett, C.J. Garrett, Kyle Garrett, Abigail Bexley, Robert Thomas Bexley and Zadie Bexley; two great-grandchildren, Aidan Caraway and Micah Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral services were held on Jan. 24, 2021 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Harrison officiating. 

Burial followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris Garrett, Michael Bexley, Matthew Bexley, Dylan Caraway, Keith Fullbright and D.J. Carter.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC in Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
