Escambia Academy will face South Choctaw Feb. 1 in the first round of the AISA Class 2A state playoffs in Canoe.
The Cougars are coming off a 53-26 win over Atmore Christian School.
Earlier this week, EA worked on shoring up some last-minute aspects of the game in preparation for its coming games.
Cougars coach Willie White Jr. said South Choctaw is a good team, and EA will have to play its type of ball in order to be successful.
White said they worked specifically on their free throw shooting and defense.
“We’re working on our man to man,” he said. “That team we played the other night (Grace Baptist), they had real tall guys. They were beating us on teh pick and roll, and we didn’t switch to stay with our man.”
Tip off on Tuesday night is at 6.
