ECHA: 1,524 cases reported from hospitals

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced today that 1,524 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest is an increase of 43 cases since Jan. 26, 2021.
According to a release, 939 cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 588 from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton.
At ACH, 4,169 specimens have been collected, 3,180 have been negative with two pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 2,566 specimens have been collected with 1,944 negative results, two pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,602 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 1,771 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Fifty-five people have died in the county. This is an increase of 11 since the Jan. 26, 2021 release.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
