Mr. Charles Monroe Smith, 88, of Century, Fla., passed away on Sun., Feb. 14, 2021 in Century.
Mr. Smith was born in Byrneville, Fla., and was a life-long member of the community where he worked as a salesman with Miller’s Hardware. He was an avid deer hunter and loved to turkey hunt, along with fishing. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was of the Holiness faith and attended Beulah Chapel in Byrneville, and was preceded in death by his parents, Zell Berry and Lucille Cooper Smith; and brothers, Jack Smith, Walter Smith, Winegair Smith and James Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie Smith of Century; daughter, Carolyn (Bob) Turk of Atmore; brother, Curtis Smith of Byrneville; sister, Susie smith Bell of Byrneville; granddaughters, Courtney Turk of Venice, Calif. and Brandy Turk of Atmore; great-grandchildren, Noah Fehr and Emma Fehr; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Feb. 18, 2021 at Beulah Chapel Church in Byrneville with Pastor Tim Floyd officiating.
Interment followed in Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
