Atmore firefighters spent part of their shift today training on the use of the jaws of life at Atmore Recycling Center.
The jaws of life is a tool used by firefighters to free vehicle occupants after crashes.
The AFD was holding training for one of its newest firefighters, Cameron Cloud.
Firefighter Zack Stewart said they do this type of training whenever they have the opportunity.
Stewart said the department called Atmore Recycling to see if they had a vehicle for the training.
