COVID-19: 1,570 cases reported by ECHA

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced today that 1,570 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
This is an increase of eight cases since the Feb. 26 report.
According to a release, 952 cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 618 from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.
At ACH, 4,367 specimens have been collected, 3,366 have been negative with one pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 3,788 specimens have been collected with 3,134 negative results, one pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,791 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 1,167 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Seventy-three people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
