Hot start leads Northview over Baker 8-1

Hot starts are always a good thing.

Northview scored seven runs in the first two innings and went on to beat Baker, Fla. 8-1 tonight in district action on the road.

The Chiefs scored three runs in the first and four runs in the second inning.

Rustin Pope went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI; and Jamarkus Jefferson went 1-for-2 with a run and three RBIs to lead the Chiefs.

Kaden Odom went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI; and Bryce Korinchak went 1-for-4 with a run.

Tyler Harrington went 2-for-4; Dillon Baggett went 1-for-3; Zane Steele went 1-for-3; Jace Tolbert went 1-for-3; and Colton Weekley went 1-for-3 to lead the Gators.

The Gators scored one run in the bottom of the seventh.

Odom struck out three, allowed one run on four hits in 6.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound. Josh Landis struck out one and allowed two hits in 0.2 innings in relief.
