COVID-19: ECHA reports no new cases since March 30

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced April 6 that 1,584 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.

There hasn’t been a change in case numbers since the March 30 release.

According to a release, 955 cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 629 from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.

At ACH, 4,533 specimens have been collected, 3,525 have been negative with five pending and 48 inconclusive.

At DWM, 3,950 specimens have been collected with 3,289 negative results, zero pending and 32 inconclusive.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,866 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 776 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.

Seventy-four people have died in the county.

The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.

Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
