COVID-19: ECHA reports 1 new case since April 6

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced today that 1,585 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest number is an increase of one case since the April 6 report.
According to a release, 956 (plus one) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 629 from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.
At ACH, 4,555 specimens have been collected, 3,550 have been negative with one pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 3,970 specimens have been collected with 3,309 negative results, zero pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,872 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 757 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Seventy-four people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
