A significant severe weather event is expected across the entire area today through mid day tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.
“Two rounds of severe weather will occur. Round one today through early tonight will feature scattered thunderstorms with some expected to be strong to severe,” NWS officials said on their Facebook page. “The primary threat for round one will be large hail with damaging wind gusts possible with a storm that develops today. Round two is expected to begin after midnight tonight and last until Saturday mid day. This round will feature a strong line of organized storms moving across the area with widespread damaging winds up to 80 mph likely as the primary threat as a significant squall line of thunderstorms moves across the region. Embedded storms within the line have the potential to produce large hail and tornadoes will in round two.”
