APD seeking info on 4th Avenue shooting

The Atmore Police Department is seeking information stemming from a shooting on 4th Avenue Tuesday night, according to officials.

Chief Chuck Brooks said in a release that at approximately 10:58 p.m. on April 27, the APD received a 911 call in response to a person being shot and needing medical assistance near the 200 block of 4th Avenue.

APD officers and emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, Brooks said.

“APD officers arrived on scene and made contact with a male subject stating he had been shot,” Brooks said. “According to a witness at the scene, the male victim left his residence for a short time and when he returned, he told the witness he had been shot. The male victim was transported to Atmore Community Hospital for treatment.”

APD investigators continue to investigate the shooting, and the department encourages anyone with information concerning the case to call 251-368-9141.
