ECHA reports 1 additional COVID case since June 4

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced June 8 that 1,631 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest number is an increase of one case since the June 4 report.
According to a release, 974 (even) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 657 (plus one) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.
At ACH, 4,798 specimens have been collected, 3,776 have been negative with zero pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 4,347 specimens have been collected with 3,652 negative results, zero pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,990 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 753 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Seventy-nine people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
