Area residents said their rain gauges told the story of the precipitation that fell late Monday and early Tuesday morning.

Patsy Justice of Flomaton said on The Atmore Advance’s Facebook page that her gauge recorded 3 inches.

Matt Mize said his recorded 6 inches in Flomaton.

In Atmore, Brittany Gilbert said her’s showed 3.5 inches of rain.

Paige Jordan said her gauge recorded 3 inches in Canoe Monday night, and Logan Zinner said 2 inches of rain fell in Huxford.

According to the National Weather Service, between 2.5-3.1 inches of rain fell over the 24-hour period from June 21-22.

As Tropical Storm Claudette swept through the area, the highest rain total for the Atmore area was 1.83 inches, according to the NWS.
