A volunteer inched a little closer to a vehicle and began to pray.
That’s one thing that took place at the Back to School Boost drive-thru event at Escambia County Middle School on July 24.
Area students in grades Pre-K through 12 received free uniforms, supplies and food. According to event officials, the food is six-days worth of breakfast and lunch along with drinks.
Each car was assigned a number, and volunteers inside of ECMS assembled backpacks of supplies, bags of uniforms and other items.
Lines of cars were directed around the school to get the supplies and food.
