ECSS to participate in CEP
Program provides breakfast, lunch to enrolled students at no charge
Escambia County School System officials announced recently its policy for free and reduced-pride meals for children served in schools under the National School Lunch Program and or the School Breakfast Program.
For the upcoming school year, 2021-22, ECSS will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
The CEP program, a part of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, allows schools and school districts in low-income areas to eliminate meal applications and serve breakfast and lunch at no charge to all enrolled students.
Breakfast and lunch meals follow the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guildelines for healthy school meals.
