ECSS: No school closings ahead of TS Fred

The Escambia County School System released a statement Sunday afternoon concerning the impending weather expected from Tropical Storm Fred.
As of release time just before 4 p.m., no closings have been called due to inclement weather. However, officials with the System are encouraging everyone to stay weather aware. Updates in the forecast could change in the coming hours.
All Escambia County Schools students, parents, and staff:
We are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Fred, currently in the Gulf. We have been in constant communication with the Escambia County EMA, law enforcement, the NWS, and other weather professionals. At this time, we plan to operate school as normal on Monday.
We are expecting another update later this evening and will make adjustments if conditions change. We expect to make a decision on Monday’s after-school activities by noon Monday and will share those details on social media, on our website, and by phone call outs.
