National Weather Service officials said this afternoon that Tropical Storm Fred is a little stronger and is slightly shifting east in the track.
According to the NWS, Fred could make landfall along the Florida Panhandle as either a tropical storm or strong tropical storm sometime Monday afternoon or evening.
“We dropped the tropical storm watch for Escambia County in Alabama, but the remainder of the watches, warnings and advisories from this morning remain in place,” officials said.
Between 1-1.5 inches of rain are forecasted to fall from the western boarder of the county to just east of Brewton, according to the NWS.
