Special agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating an officer-involved shooting that involved deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, according to officials.

Senior Trooper Anna Peoples said in a release that the incident occurred today, Thurs., Aug. 19, and one individual was injured.

Peoples said the individual was identified as Charles E. Dale, 51, of Frisco City. He was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.

Peoples said once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Monroe County district attorney’s office.
