Escambia Academy officials announced today that they are closing school on Monday due to the potential weather conditions from Hurricane Ida.
“We hate to inconvenience our families, but due to Gov. (Kay) Ivey declaring Escambia County, Ala. a state of emergency, we feel this is the safest decision,” Headmaster Hugh Fountain said on the school’s Facebook page.
Fountain said a plan to resume school on Tuesday is in place.
