COVID: 85 additional cases reported since Sept. 7 by ECHCA

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced Sept. 14 that 2,686 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.

The latest number is an increase of 85 cases since the Sept. 7 report. The ECHA releases its COVID-19 report every Tuesday.

According to a release, 1,175 cases (plus 12) have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 1,511 cases (plus 73) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update. At ACH, 5,732 have been tested for the virus as of Sept. 14, and 7,496 have been tested at DWM.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 6,228 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County.

Ninety-seven (plus two) people have died in the county.

Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differ from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.

Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
