COVID: 50 additional cases reported

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced Sept. 21 that 2,736 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest number is an increase of 50 cases since the Sept. 14 report. The ECHA releases its COVID-19 report every Tuesday.
According to a release, 1,181 cases (plus six) have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 1,555 cases (plus 44) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update. At ACH, 5,810 have been tested for the virus as of Sept. 21, and 7,756 have been tested at DWM.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 6,509 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County.
One-hundred-and-eleven (plus 14) people have died in the county.
Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differ from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
