County Engineer Bill Bridges expressed thanks for the patience of residents over the past several weeks following a rain event that caused issues on some county roads.

“We appreciate the patience of residents in some areas of the county,” Bridges said. “We had some roads that were damaged in a heavy rain and we had some trouble finding pipes for the repairs due to some shortages. But, we have those damaged roads passable now and will be making further repairs when we can.”

Escambia County Sheriff Heath Jackson also expressed thanks to the Commission for raises for his staff.

“I want to thank ya’ll for putting some things for our department in the budget this year,” Jackson said. “We will now be able to get some needed equipment and be able to put some raises in place for our employees. The love and support ya’ll have given us is wonderful. I’m glad to have a good working relationship with this commission.”
