In less than a week, a small group of people and organizations helped bring some holiday cheer to local children.
The Christmas in the Park event went off without a hitch at Houston Avery Park on Dec. 22, where area children were invited to come and get some toys.
Through the efforts of the Atmore Youth League, Empowerment Tabernacle Church, Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks, Mayor Jim Staff, the Concerned Citizens of Atmore, the Atmore Urban Development, Bread of Life and others, children received one toy each and some got a bicycle.
Additionally, Curtis Tucker with Rainbow for Kids provided free fodo for participants.
