The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced Jan. 4 that 164 positive COVID-19 tests have been reported out of its two hospitals over the last seven days.

According to the ECHCA, 3,078 positive tests have been reported from Atmore Community Hospital and D.W. McMillan.

The ECHA releases its COVID-19 report every Tuesday.

According to a release, 60 positive tests were reported from ACH and 104 were reported from DWM over the last seven days.

According to the ECHCA, Escambia County’s positive rate is 47.9 percent. Over the last seven days, there have been 150 NAAT tests administered in the county.

Due to the timing of the information, the numbers may differ from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.

Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.

Additionally, the Alabama Department of Public Health is giving COVID vaccines. Walk ins are welcome. Hours of operation in Brewton are Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Hours of operation in Atmore is Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
