On March 29, 2022 at the age 71, Lanita Jean Wells, passed away peacefully at home. She was born on Jan. 1, 1951 to Walter and Katie Lou Wells in Andalusia. In her 71 years of life, Jean had four wonderful children, Melissa Whatley (Sandra Leddick), of Bay Minette, Robert (Barbara) Whatley, of Atmore, Walter Whatley, of Atmore and Dani Hadley, of Perdido; and a husband, John Wayne Loper, of Mobile.

She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Whatley; one sister, Betty Hall; and one brother, William Wells.

Wells was laid to rest on April 2, 2022 with a graveside service at White’s Cemetery in Perdido with the Rev. D L Harville officiating.

Pallbearers were Robert Whatley, Andrew Whatley, Grant Bateman, Jacob Bedsaul, Patrick Parker and Brandon White.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore is in charge of all arrangements.
