Lady Chiefs fall to Baker, Fla. 4-3 in close game

Baker’s (Fla.) Adalynn St. John scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh and the Lady Gators held on in the bottom half of the frame to top Northview 4-3 Thursday night in Bratt.
A pitcher’s duel, the game was tied 1-1 after the first five innings. BHS took a 3-1 lead in the top of the sixth, and the Lady Chiefs answered back with two runs of their own going into the final inning.
Northview’s Emma Gilmore threw a two-hitter, allowed three runs and struck out 10 in the loss. Aubrey Stuckey came in in relief and gave up one one one hit while striking out one.
Kaylin Watson went 2-for-3 to lead NHS. Peyton Gilchrist and Kayla Dixon each had one hit.
The Lady Chiefs visit Escambia, Fla. on April 19.
