Mr. Jerry Wayne Mathis “Gator,” 67, of Milton, Fla, passed away on May 28, 2022 in Milton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James O Pete (Mary Helen Moore) Mathis; and his wife, Shelia Dunsford Mathis.
He is survived by his two sons, Marcus (Cindy) Mathis, of Byrneville, Fla. and Jamie (Jennifer) Mathis, of Pace, Fla.; one daughter, Gidget (Jeremy) Dortch, of Flomaton; one step-daughter, Kendra Bonner, of Century, Fla.; two brothers, James O Dooley (Vivian) Mathis, of Century and Johnny Mathis, of McDavid, Fla.; five sisters, Mildred (Danny) Higdon, of Flomaton, Evelyn (Bill) Cozart, of Jay, Fla., Peggy McDonald, of Century, Gayle (Chuck) Aldridge, of Century and Kathy Simmons, of Jay; eight grandchildren, Shae Dortch, Cody Mathis, Ryan Reeves, Zoey Bonner, Zakiah Lowery, Addie Mathis, Brynnlee Mathis and Piper Mathis; one great-grandchild, Josie Lynn Mathis; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held this Thurs., June 2, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Cozart officiating.
Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on June 2, 2022 from noon until service time at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
