More than 50 percent of construction of the Atmore Urgent Care is complete, according to Escambia County Health Care Authority (ECHCA) officials.
Last June, the ECHCA celebrated the groundbreaking of the new clinic, which is located on Highway 21 near Interstate 65, right across from Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Atmore.
Projected completion date is slated for August 2022 with patients being seen in the same month.
According to officials, three advanced practice providers will begin work at the clinic.
Services that will be provided include a two-sided clinic with one side providing comprehensive urgent care for patients including sick visits, X-Ray, labs, small procedures and more; and on the other wellness and screening to include wellness exams, department of transportation physicals and preventive screenings aimed at early detection and diagnosis, according to ECHCA officials.
“Construction of the new Atmore Urgent Care facility is coming along nicely,” ECHCA CEO Jeff Booth said. “We are on schedule to open in the fall of 2022, hopefully in August. Our initial plan is to have three providers that will be seeing both sick and well patients.”
Booth said in addition to the traditional urgent care services of provider care, pharmacy, lab and X-Ray, the urgent care facility will have a minor procedure room along with an extensive focus on front end healthcare screenings and chronic disease management.
“We are extremely excited about bringing these expanded services to the citizens of this county,” he said.
