UPDATE: Interstate 65 southbound near the 67-mile marker is open, according to ALEA officials.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the 67 mile marker are blocked because of a multi-vehicle crash today, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

ALEA officials said that the crash occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. today.

ALEA officials are encouraging motorists to use caution while traveling through the area.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
