Heavy rains will be possible along portions of the northern Gulf Coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle over the next several days due to a low-pressure system located in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the National Weather Service.
At present, the system is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
Here is the forecast for the rest of the week from the NWS:
This Afternoon – Showers and thunderstorms. High near 89. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tonight – Showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Low around 73. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday – Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. High near 85. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
