Atmore man arrested on spice possession charge

An Atmore man was arrested on a possession charge Oct. 30, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said Sakari York, 25, of Atmore, was arrested at the intersection of Highway 21 and Brooks Lane. McMann said APD officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:40 p.m. York was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

“When officers arrived, they discovered Sakari York, 25, of Atmore, passed out in the vehicle,” McMann said. Officers noticed a plastic bag on the console that contained spice. Spice was also discovered in York’s pants pockets.”

York was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
